Money Orders
Why do so many sellers trust money orders? Because they are guaranteed if lost or stolen. They are as good as cash - that's why many sellers will ship the same day as receiving them in the mail - they know the funds are there when they cash it.
Money orders are not hard to find - don't think you are restricted to a bank when you go to purchase one. Many banks will charge you a large service fee way over your original amount because they don't want to be bothered with them.
Here is a list of places you can purchase a money order at:
Post Offices ($1.10 fee up to $500)
Grocery Stores | |
Walmart/Kmart (Our Walmart only charges $0.46! The lowest we've seen!)
CVS/Eckerd Drug Stores
Gas Stations - Hess', etc. |
Most places average about $0.69.
So the next time you go to make your online purchase and see a seller accepts money orders, don't let the item pass you by because it seems like a huge hassle. The next time you go grocery shopping or fill up your tank, ask if they have money orders and get all of your shopping done at one time! :-)
